Rho - Omega Mixing and the Pion Form Factor in the Time - like Region

چکیده
We determine the magnitude, phase, and s-dependence of ρ-ω " mixing " in the pion form factor in the time-like region through fits to e + e − → π + π − data. The associated systematic errors in these quantities, arising from the functional form used to fit the ρ resonance, are small. The systematic errors in the ρ mass and width, however, are larger than previously estimated.

Rho-omega Mixing and the Pion Electromagnetic Form-factor
The suggestion of momentum dependence in the amplitude for rho-omega mixing has generated concern over related implications for vector meson dominance and the photon-rho coupling. We discuss two established representations of vector meson dominance and show that one of these is completely consistent with such a coupling. We then apply it to a calculation of the pion electromagnetic form-factor....
متن کاملAnalysis of rho - omega interference in the pion form - factor
The formalism underlying the analysis of e + e − → π + π − in the ρ − ω interference region is carefully revisited. We show that the standard neglect of the pure I = 0 omega, ω I , " direct " coupling to ππ is not valid, and extract those combinations of the direct coupling and ρ-ω mixing allowed by experiment. The latter is shown to be only very weakly constrained by experiment , and we conclu...

The electromagnetic form factor of the pion is obtained using a particular realization of QCD in the large Nc limit, which sums up the infinite number of zero-width resonances to yield an Euler’s Beta function of the Veneziano type. This form factor agrees with space-like data much better than single rho-meson dominance. A simple unitarization ansatz is illustrated, and the resulting vector spe...
متن کاملElectromagnetic pion form factor at finite temperature
The electromagnetic form factor of the pion in the space-like region, and at finite temperature, Fπ(Q 2, T ), is obtained from a QCD Finite Energy Sum Rule. The form factor decreases with increasing T, and vanishes at some critical temperature, where the pion radius diverges. This divergence may be interpreted as a signal for quark deconfinement. We review the hypothesis of the conserved vector current (CVC) within the Standard Model. In addition to the classic tests, such as pion beta decay and neutrino scattering, we mention recent tests involving LEP data. As well as providing a clear indication that the isovector current is not conserved, rho-omega mixing offers a fascinating opportunity to study CP violation at B-factories and we o...
